No, they come in a few different colours, to match the bars I think.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's not real Jim, I desaturated everything apart from the rider because I liked the shapes of the trees and it made them stand out for me.

I remember this when it was in Singletrack, it was definitely one of the better photos they have ever run. If you don't mind me saying it looked even better in the printed version. Good work!

I think that's one of my favourite shots ever. Really different and stunning. The framing is perfect too.

It's in the Basque Country, in the north of Spain.

It's a little area near Zaragoza. It looks a bit like Vardenas but there is singletrack. Whereabouts are you based?

Thanks for the comments guys. The trail goes down to the left and cuts back on itself. We take a small boat journey and then ride past those two headlands and San Sebastian is on the other side with the beach, sunbathers and beer! Normally we have a few beers and then take the train back to the start of the loop.

It's really not that scary when you're there. If you look over the 1st bit of water there's a little lighthouse right by the water, there's steps cut into the rocks there that drop to that lighthouse... that's properly scary!

Absolutely Jim, there's lots of little spots along the coast there. Mundaka is just up there too.

Thanks guys! We dropped through a crack in the ridge and then the real descent begun. It was a pity that the sun had already set on that side of the ridge so there's not photos.

Cheers guys. To be honest it's not that scary at all, the trail sort of takes your eye and you hardly even notice the fall to the side. You just have to remember to stop before you look at the view.

Thanks, it's a nice place for sure! It was in November, the end sometime I think. It was quite cold... baselayer and top weather.

Wet roost rules though, I'm in Scotland for Christmas and that's what it's all about here!

Have a good one too and all the best for 2012.

Hey crowe, yeah, the plane has a go-pro camera attached to it. The guy there flies it using video goggles so he can see what the plane sees if you know what I mean. The idea was to make this cool video with the plane chasing the bike but it was quite windy. The guy was on holiday with me so we only had limited time and never got a chance to make the video we wanted to. I made a wee story of what was going on which you can see here:

One of the best saddles I ever owned: http://www.basquemtb.com/2010-season-kit-review-charge-spoon-saddle/

I replaced it with Ragley Cheeky to match the bike and it was rubbish! http://www.basquemtb.com/short-term-review-ragley-cheeky-mountain-bike-saddle/

I will get another Charge Spoon ASAP.
